We are growing our team and are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in Microsoft’s data ecosystem to support our clients in their data-driven transformation journeys.

The Role

As a Data Engineer at OnModus, you will design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions for our clients. You’ll be responsible for building robust data pipelines, data architectures, and cloud-based platforms that enable advanced analytics and AI-driven insights. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and software engineers, to deliver reliable, future-proof data solutions that help organizations unlock the value of their data.

This role is ideal for a data engineer who is passionate about Microsoft technology and wants to be part of a dynamic consultancy that blends strategy, data, and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.

  2. Build and optimize data models for Power BI and other reporting tools to support advanced analytics and business intelligence.

  3. Develop and manage data solutions using Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and Microsoft Fabric.

  4. Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity through robust governance frameworks.

  5. Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver insights and enable AI-driven solutions.

  6. Optimize data storage, processing, and performance in cloud environments.

  7. Guide and mentor junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and best practices.

  8. Contribute to the continuous development of OnModus’ data engineering methodologies and Microsoft-focused capabilities.

About You

  1. 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure data services.

  2. Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, and Microsoft Fabric.

  3. Experience building data models and dashboards in Power BI, with a strong understanding of DAX and data visualization best practices.

  4. Solid knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in Microsoft cloud environments.

  5. Proactive and structured, with the ability to drive technical initiatives and collaborate across teams.

  6. Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on mentality.

  7. Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
